I'm 54 year old. Just got discharged from the hospital yesterday after having two stents placed on clogged two major arteries (Widowmaker LAD). Thanks to a persistent doctor at Duke Regional Hospital (Dr Mike) who encouraged me to go for cardiac cath. My symptoms were just a dull chest pain and cold sweats after working on my yard. No family history of heart disease, I don't smoke and I exercise. Initial troponin was normal, Chest X-ray and Echo were normal, EKG was normal. I wanted to go home though I was still having mild chest discomfort but I was advised to stay when the succeeding Troponin levels were high. The doctor said, "If I don't see anything when we do the PCI, I will discharge you but if I see something, you'll stay". True enough, he found out the deadly blockage that would have caused grief to my wife. It's a wake up call and start of a new lifestyle.
Today's been 1 week of having 2 Stent placed in my arteries. I Feel better ,looking forward to the next chapter now. Cheers to the Doctors Researcher's ,technicians, nurses and recipients. And Cheers to humanity
Thank you John
Monday , February 26th 2024 . Had heart attack , got 3 stents . Now worried . Looking to keep in contact with people in the same situation 🙏
very good thought out video. thanks for sharing.
Guess there's a lot of misinformation. And her voice triggers my tinnitus
Hummus
How do I get them please
Complete garbage talk. I have perfect hearing but have Tinnitus. People like this have no business lecturing. With time it decreases and your body will adjust. It should go away within a year, if it doesn’t it’s either a neuroma hearing loss. An MRI is helpful at that point.
Can you use these remedies if you're my age, 71?
THX.!!
Hello i am Theo from the Netherlands I do not smoke My weight is o.k. I am very active And i have more than 22 stents I never had an heart attack becaurs my high active life . Lot of cycling lot of walking not slow it makes my heart to work hard If it does not get enough oxigin i can feel it in the form of presur on my chest Or in my throat Or under my jaw. Than i know i have to call the doctor. It is an hereditary sitiuation . So let your heart work hard ,so you can feel if the bloodflow is o.k. I am feeling fine Don’t worry be happy, Sorry for my english mistakes Best wishes, Theo.
22 stents ?
This was an excellent presentation. It was very informative and easy to understand. As an owner of 2 new stents, it is also encouraging.
Does a 90% blockage needs a stent placement, or can it be managed and reversed?
I beleive any blockage that exceeds 70% should be looked at. That would be exceeding moderate blockage.
Amazing. Thanks
My heart is in such good condition I take care of it, but it seems my dad will soon need one of these; makes me wonder, many things. :(
Hello Brenda. Nice greetings from Beatrice. Long time no c..... sorry Have a great day!
It is too bad they have to force open the arteries that much with stents. I am still getting chest pains that feels like sharp objects are scraping my arteries as the blood moves along. Bad reminder for the day when I had a heart attack.
Thank you 🙏
Beautifully done
❌❌❌ WHAT ABOUT DIET?? Great video, but all he mentions at the end to prevent heart problems is smoking, exercise, monitoring cholesterol & blood pressure and losing weight. How is it possible he didn’t say…? Eat heart-healthy foods and quit eating processed junk and animal products. He should also have said quit drinking alcohol. I’m beyond shocked. Unbelievable!! 😱😱 Lorne Holman in Calgary Canada 🇨🇦
Had two stents put in today. Still have tightness in the chest. We'll see how it works out.
How are you now ?
Finally got hit after 20 years of living in Austin. After 4 years of cedar getting worse and worse, I'm thinking to move. But also Looking into drops ($150 bottle) my neighbor has been putting under his tongue for a couple minutes every morning for a month. Benadryl is working much better for me than Nasal saline plus flonase plus Zyrtec every day (with flonase started two weeks before the pollen). And I use an N95 mask whenever I'm outside (several times a day, walking the dog, for example). Antihistamine eye drops are also key to survival. Sigh...
Thanks.
Hello, What about ELCA coronary laser?

Thank you so much for the video. What would be the smallest dosage for the patches and also the spray?
Thank you Sir for the Presentation which can be understood by all. 7 weeks back I had Coronary Angiogram thru right radial approach which revealed Double Vessel Coronary Artery Disease. Next day underwent successful PTCA with stent to OM1 & LED. Below are the brief details Lesion 1: Vessel OM1 Location is Proximal and Type is C Severity 70% Lesion 2: Vessel LED Location is Ostio-Proximal and Type is C Severity 99% They have used Xience Alpine Stent. Before the procedure, I used to take Telmisartan 20 mg once a day (Hypertensive since 20 years) and Metformin 500 mg twice a day (since 6 years) and Ecospirin since 6 years (combination of Atorvastatin (10mg) + Aspirin (75mg) . For initial 5 weeks after PTCA, along with the Blood thinners(Ticagrelor 90mg) and Statin(Rosuvastatin 40mg), I used to take Telmisartan 20mg, Metforming 500mg twice a day and plain Aspirin 75mg once a day. 5 weeks after the PTCA procedure my blood pressure has dropped to 80/60 and the Doctor has advised me to stop Telmisartan 20 mg and reduced the Rosuvastatin from 40 to 10mg and has asked me to come back after 3 months. My question is why the drop in blood pressure for which I used to take medication for 20 long Years! Please advise.
Something happened to me. My BP always good and after the stents every morning when I get up 85/56, I get fatigue. My cardiologist still keeps me on two BP lowering medications. One day I stopped taking them for a week and it was the same low. So, if I take the blood pressure medication or not my blood pressure is still low upon getting up for 1-2 hours.
P
Pls Ineed your help were can I get that medicine am in nigeria
What the name of the ring??
Excellent explanation and presentation!
I have Eight stents fitted. I had four put in about twenty years ago, the four more after a heart attack recently. I wonder if eight is the limit or if I can I have more fitted. I am 76 years old and in very poor health.
I' had 3 put in on my birthday 77 recently Glad to see they last. Did you change your lifestyle after the first 4?
@@dougfox9649 Yes, I had been suffering from angina for a long time, I had been diagnosed with a heart attack by my GP. The doctors at the hospital said it was stomach problems, which I knew wasn't true. I had my first angiogram after insisting it wasn't stomach problems. The angiogram showed 5 arteries blocked, two at 99%. I was then told by the doctor who did it, that they would now have to take me seriously. I then had my first four stents fitted and the change to my life was unbelievable. The angina vanished, and I was able to go out for a walk, something I hadn't done for years. I often wonder how many people are wrongly diagnosed when sent to a hospital with a suspected heart attack. I have had four heart attacks in total, the last one in October 2021. That is when 4 more stents were fitted. I hope they last as long as the first ones. I like living and I'm not ready to meet my maker just yet.
@@dougfox9649 I have never had a lavish lifestyle, I don't eat fast foods or smoke or drink alcohol. I am overweight. I try to keep my eating under control. The problem is I have many other health problems, including severe arthritis, long-term type one diabetes, liver disease, etc. I walk very badly now and fall easily due to my diabetic legs. Being housebound now keeps me from getting the exercise I need. I try to exercise in my chair. I like living and I hope I can live a few more years.
The very best of luck to you. I personally spoke with a person whose father had 20 stents installed following quadruple bypass surgery. I also know of another person who has had 19 stents installed following quadruple bypass surgery. Hopefully this answers your question, and again, am hoping for the very best.
@@louisd95714 If I was to have that many fitted I wouldn't want to go near a magnet. Stents have saved my life twice, however, they only last a short time as mine did. I would go for a bypass if it happened again.
I STOPPED TAKING MY MEDS 5 YEARS AGO AFTER 11 YEARS ON THEM , I WAS FEELIN A LOT WORSE ON THEM GETTING PAINS IN CHEST OCCASIONALLY, FOUND OUT IT WAS THE ASPIRIN, OMAPROZOLE WAS HARDEST TO COME OFF AND LIPITOR MADE MY LEGS NUMB TINGLY AND HOT, COULD HARDLY CRAWL UPSTAIRS AFTER WORK, SINCE I TOOK MYSELF OFF THEM I FEEL A LOT BETTER GETTING MY STRENGTH BACK, I WAS TOLD IN 2006 TO TAKE THEM FOR REST OF MY LIFE YET THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS, HAD 3 MRI SCANS ON MY LEGS AND FEET AND NOTHIN,
Thank you for information to taking better care of my heart
at age 45, had 4 stents a few days ago. Bill was a whopping 500,000 pesos around $10,000
It is not stuffing unless you stuff it. It is a great gluten free side dish

Great video
don't smoke
Just had a huge stemi heart attack 5 weeks ago. LAD 100%blocked. My only risk factor is a nicotine gum addiction. I'm 48' slender, not sedentary. Thank God they were able to get a stent in there
I didn t Knowles that nicotine gums could make such hudge mess
I have 3 Stent this year, I'm 41. My question, I take my Stent medicine at around 9:30am and my 2nd dose at 7:30pm or 8:30pm my question doe it matter if it's 1-3 hours difference? For the 2nd dose, and I forgot a 2nd because the pill was stuck on the medication box
